VERTIGO

Oggi conversazione silenziosa con questo universo racchiuso al #PalaceOfFineArts, di ispirazione greco-romana e costruito da #BernardMaybeck.
Ci siamo alzate presto io e @claudianzalone per venire qui a scattare, ora che non ci sono persone in giro. Solo per godere della pace e di quel pezzo di storia americana raccolta qui.
Fu costruito per l’Esposizione Panama-Pacifico del 1915 per presentare le opere d’arte. Fu ricostruito nel 1965 con la laguna alle mie spalle.
Una storia lunga e interessante. È stato anche protagonista di diverse ambientazioni cinematografiche. Mentre proprio di fianco ci sono gli studi della #LucasFilm… #StarWars vi dice qualcosa?
Comunque tra i film ambientati qui #Vertigo di #Hitchcock è il mio preferito!
Vi prometto che non mi butterò nelle acque della baia però vi consiglio di guardarlo!
Se Alfred avesse potuto vedermi con questo cappottino di @lola_darling_clothing mi avrebbe scritturata per il film! Le righe e i quadri del mio cappotto, elementi visivi molto cari al regista, lo avrebbero attratto.

Today, a silent conversation with this universe, enclosed in the Palace of Fine Arts, of Greek-Roman inspiration, designed by Bernard Maybeck.

Me and Claudia Anzalone, we’ve got up early, to come here to shoot, there’s nobody around now; the two of us came here only to enjoy the peace of the place, and that part of the American history that’s kept here.

It was built for the 1915 Panama-Pacific Expo, to present the artworks; it was rebuilt in 1965, with the lagoon behind me.

A long, interesting story. The place has also been a protagonist of several movie settings. While, just around the corner, here are the Lucas’ Film Studios… Star Wars… reminds you of anything?

Anyway, among the films that have been set here, “Vertigo” by Hitchcock is my fave one!

I promise I don’t want to jump into the bay waters, but I suggest (recommend) to you that you watch it!

If (old) Alfred had been able to see me wearing this little overcoat by Lola-darling-clothing, he would have cast me for the movie! The stripe-and-square pattern of my coat, a visual element the director cared for a lot, would have attracted him.
